now that last week's disaster is behind me...

67-7-64 +1.38 (stake 182.16)

Netherlands/Mexico double 2.25u to win 2.54u

Holland near perfect at home in qualies with 11 straight clean sheets and just one draw in 15. Romania with a strange XI today with no real accomplished offensive player so clearly playing for 0-0. Mexico big pressure on them but with the shaky USA back 4 and no Jermaine Jones to do the dirty work in front of them could make for a long night. USA breathing easier after getting the 3 points on Friday night and could get smacked badly tonight. Mexico 68-6-1 home qualifiers, USA 0-1-12 in Mex qualifiers

small bet 2:30

Turkey vs Hungary
- public heavy on Hungary as Turkey has disappointed in first 5 matches, 2-0-3. Must wins are not the most comfortable bets but odds have moved so much toward Hungary that there is now decent value. If Turkey and Netherlands win today then the Turks are just 1 point in back of Hungary/Romania for 2nd place with Andorra up next at home. Hungary have a shaky defense and just blew a home win in stoppage time vs Romania. When you look at away WCQ results only the win in Denmark registers as anything even somewhat impressive since the 1980's. Turk fans will turn on this team if they allow Hungary to take the lead so just a very small bet

Turkey .63u to win .50u

Any thoughts on Spain -.5 +125? Seems like an important one for Spain after the Finland game, and the midfielders returning can't hurt.

yeah will resort to their no striker formation and just make runs at the french D. xavi and iniesta back but not going to touch the game. would be spain -1/4 or nothing if i was playing it

got the TR match on and they've been awesome but can't hit the back of the net. 11 shots and 6 corners in 1H and 2/3 possession. will need all-out attack so would recommend 2H over...waiting for 5dimes to post odds but nothing yet

and the beat goes on...

USA 0-0

played a decent game but some terrible Chicharito finishing and blind refereeing was the deciding factor. not sure the US had one decent attack. shots 19-1, corners 15-2 but that's how i'm losing a lot of games these days...

USA vs Costa Rica and Mexico put a total of one shot on goal and only 7 attempts at goal and our guys are acting like they're ready for the World Cup semifinals....

I don't see how anyone who watched that game could think the US was ready to put together any kind of run in the world cup. Mexico was terrible finishing, though the US d gets credit for that since it seemed to my novice eyes that they did well, aside from beasley. The non-call at the end was really terrible.

The U.S. Soccer Federation has announced a special "victory parade" in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 0-0 draw in a World Cup qualifier against Mexico at the Estadio Azteca. It was only the second time the U.S. earned a point in World Cup qualifiers at the Azteca (the first time coming in 1997) and follows the country's first ever win in Mexico last year. U.S. fans both in the stadium and back home reacted to the result as if they won a minor trophy and now the USSF plans to do the same.
"This is a historic event for the U.S. national team and the fact that it comes in our federation's centennial year only makes it more special," USSF president Sunil Gulati told reporters. "So, like Spain does after winning every real trophy, we will hold a victory parade through our nation's capital to mark this momentous occasion. There will be ballon animals for the kids and the fan who had the most mystery liquids thrown on them at the Azteca will be awarded the Medal of Honor. By Morgan Freeman. Dressed as Abraham Lincoln."
The U.S. only had one shot in the match, while Mexico had 19. And though a rash of injuries forced the U.S. to rely on defenders Omar Gonzalez and Matt Besler and goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who all came through with strong performances, they were also helped by the referee, who ignored Mexico's penalty shout in the second half. Most of this was glossed over in the jubilation over the result, but U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann tried to keep things in perspective.

This is a joke, right? It's always fun to support your team being completely dominated but escaping with a draw. I'm gonna go make sure I have a full tank to take the trip down the DC!

Other than losing a bunch of money (now 0-3 with Mexico in WC qualifying throwing away most of my football profits) I am glad the USMNT got 4 points (on 1 shot on target in 3 hours of play), but this is silly.....It is impossible to remove these autocrats from their cushy jobs with the federation, but Gulati is a clown who is a detriment to development of the sport in the United States.
